University of Cambridge Hybrid Event

UPCA members are invited to attend this hybrid event hosted by the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education, exploring innovative therapeutic approaches to supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
The session will be led by Jane Yates, a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist based in Jersey, who specialises in developmental trauma, autism, and attachment. Jane will present findings from her six-week Skate School SEMH project, demonstrating how skateboarding can be used as a creative therapeutic intervention to promote emotional regulation, sensory integration, and engagement with learning.
Alongside the presentation, participants will take part in an interactive session exploring the relationship between movement, learning, and wellbeing. This event will be of particular interest to counsellors, psychotherapists, educators, and professionals working with children and young people who wish to learn more about creative, trauma-informed approaches to therapeutic practice.
