Online Research Networking Event | September 2026
UPCA members involved in postgraduate study, practitioner research, or early career academic work may be interested in joining the next session of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Emerging Researcher Network (ERN).
This September’s ERN event will feature Dr Mick Cooper, Professor of Counselling Psychology at the University of Roehampton, who will explore how postgraduate research theses and dissertations can be developed into publishable journal articles. The session will provide practical guidance on the publication process, including selecting an appropriate journal, adapting a thesis into a journal article, collaborating with supervisors, and navigating peer review, submission, and revisions.
The ERN is designed to support postgraduate students and early career researchers through expert presentations, peer discussion, and networking opportunities. Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their own research, share challenges, and receive advice and guidance from both the speaker and fellow researchers in a supportive environment.
Attendance certificates are provided following the event and may contribute towards CPD requirements.
