UKCP’s 2026 annual research event explores the theme “The evolving psychotherapy profession: practice, ethos and community.” This one-day online event will showcase emerging research and provide a space to reflect on how practice, professional ethos and community intersect in contemporary psychotherapy.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear from UKCP members and leading researchers about recent studies on practice, ethos and community

  • Engage in interactive workshops and Q&A sessions

  • Connect with fellow psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors interested in these topics

The event will cover questions such as:

  • How do different modalities interact, and what are the implications for the professional community?

  • What role do training and supervision play in shaping practice?

  • How can key themes like the medical model debate or anti-oppressive practice inform our work?

Who should attend: Anyone interested in the latest developments in psychotherapy research.
